The number of new companies in Turkey increased by 15% in the first quarter of 2021, according to a statement issued by the "Federation of Chambers and Exchange of Goods of Turkey”.

Significant increase in the number of new companies in Turkey

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges in Turkey (TOBB) said in a recently published statement: The number of new companies in Turkey increased by 15% in the first quarter of 2021.

Significant increase from last year

The report showed that 32,064 companies were established in the first three months of this year, while only 27908 companies, incorporated in the same period of 2020.

About 3,218 companies were from the new companies, with foreign participation during the first quarter of this year 2021.

A significant reduction in the number of companies suspended

Only 2694 companies had ceased operations in the first three months of this year, down 27.3% from the same period in 2020.

Meanwhile, 10879 companies started their business in Turkey in March 2021, up 31.5% according to the statement issued by the "Chamber and Goods Exchange Federation of Turkey".

The rise came after a drop

According to the statement, 1202 foreign capital companies were established in March of this year.

This increase will be a compensation for the 27.5% increase in the number of companies suspended from work, by 973 companies that were suspended in March 2021.

Distribution of new companies

Regarding the position of new companies: about 38.5% of new companies were in Istanbul, 10% in Ankara, and 6.1% in Izmir.

It should be noted that the increase in the number of new companies in Turkey covered all Turkish states during March 2021.

On the contribution of newly opened companies in Turkey: 3692 of them were involved in business, 1808 in manufacturing and 1310 in construction.
