A remarkable increase in the sales of apartments in Turkey for March 2021

According to statistics from Statistics Turkey Authority TÜİK, the sales of apartments in Turkey during March of the current year 2021 amounted to 111,241 apartments, achieving an increase of 2.4% over the sales of the same month last year.

Istanbul ranked first among the Turkish states that sold the most residential apartments, selling 22,007 apartments, achieving an increase of 19.8% of the overall sales of apartments in Turkey during March 2021.

The state of Ankara ranked second after Istanbul, with sales of 11,003 apartments and an increase of 9.9% of the overall sales of apartments in Turkey during March 2021, and Izmir came in third place among the states that sold most apartments in March 2021, by selling 6,636 apartments, an increase of 6%.

For the states with lower sales during March 2021, the state of Erdhan ranked first among the Turkish states with the lowest sales of apartments with a sale of 15 apartments, followed by Hakkari state with the sale of 16 apartments, and Tunceli state came in third place by selling 52 apartments during March 2021.

Sales of new apartments exceed 33,000 as of March 2021

According to the above official statistics, the number of new apartments sold in all of Turkey during March of this year: 33,365 new apartments, generating 30% of all-Turkish apartment sales during March.

Istanbul ranked first among the Turkish states that sold more new apartments, with a sale of 6,317 new apartments, and a rate of 18.9% of new home sales throughout Turkey during March 2021. Then came Ankara with the sale of 2098 apartments, and Izmir came after in third place, by selling 836 apartments.

As for second-hand residential apartments, the number of apartments sold throughout Turkey during the month of March of this year reached 77,876 apartments, an increase of 4.4% over the sales of second-hand apartments for the same month of last year.

Istanbul ranked first among the Turkish states that sold second-hand apartments the most, with sales of 15,690 second-hand apartments, with a percentage of 20.1% of sales of second-hand apartments throughout Turkey, and 71.3% of all sales of this type of apartments in Istanbul.

Ankara came in second place, with sales of 8,905 second-hand apartments, followed by Izmir, with sales of 4,800 second-hand apartments during March 2021.

Foreign sales made significant progress during March 2021

According to the same statistics: Sales of apartments in Turkey to foreigners during March of this year: 4,248 apartments, an increase of 39.9% of foreign apartment sales during the same month last year.

Istanbul ranked first among the Turkish states that sold apartments to foreigners the most, with sales of 2119 apartments in March 2021, followed by Antalya in second place with sales: 889 apartments sold to foreigners, and Ankara came in third place with sales: 252 apartments.

Iranians maintain the lead in sales of apartments in Turkey

In terms of the classification of foreigners according to their nationality, Iranians maintained the lead among the foreign nationalities who bought the most apartments in Turkey during March of this year by buying 663 apartments followed the Iraqis in second place with the purchase of 644 apartments and the Russians ranked third by purchasing 419 apartments during March 2021.
