The volume of the Turkish government expenditure within the framework of support for renewable energy sources reached about 11 billion and 479 million Turkish liras (about $ 3 billion) last year.
According to the revealed data from the energy markets operation company; the production of wind energy, biomass, solar energy, geothermal, hydroelectric stations, reached about 59 billion kilowatts of electricity over the last year.
The Turkish government aims to raise its production of the aforementioned stations to 69 billion and 23 million kilowatts by the end of the year 2017.
Turkey has shown interest in the renewable energy sector over the last decade, as the volume of investment in Turkey amounted about $ 1.5 billion in the wind energy sector through 2016.
