Basaksehir Medical City- New Medical Complex in Istanbul

Who did not hear about Basaksehir Medical city! One of the largest medical cities in the world, 53% of which has been completed and is expected to be operational in the middle of the year 2020, provides employment opportunities for nearly 10,000 people.

A Glimpse at Basaksehir Medical City Complex 

The medical city of Basaksehir has a total area of 1 million square meters. The medical city has 8 buildings, each with a full specialized hospital, as follows: Children's Hospital, Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Oncology Hospital, Neurosurgery Hospital Psychiatry, Physical Therapy, and Rehabilitation Hospital. These hospitals will serve a capacity of 2,682 beds.

The main building of the city will be one of the largest earthquake-resistant buildings in the world, with 2068 seismic insulators supporting the foundations of all the city's buildings.

Thanks to these modern seismic isolators, it will be possible to carry out surgical operations even during the earthquake without any embarrassment, and the amount of iron used to build the facility will reach 95 thousand tons of iron, which is ten times the weight of the famous Eiffel Tower.

The 400 thousand square meters area of ceramic used to cover the external facade of the hospital is enough to cover an area equal to the size of 50 football fields.

While the length of cables used in the framework of the project about 12 thousand kilometers, nearly almost the diameter of the earth!

On the other hand, the concrete size to be used in this project is expected to be one million cubic meters, which is three times the amount of concrete used in Khaliah tower, the world's tallest building.

The project won the PPP this year, an international award from the Thomson Reuters'ın Project Finance International Project Finance Awards.

The Flexible Capacity of Basaksehir Medical City in Istanbul

"The project works are as fast as we need, and we have reached 53% of the achievement. It is a stunning project. God willing, we will provide service to our people in late 2020, the project now employs 8,000 workers, and we expect to provide employment for ten thousand people when it is operational, and we expect the hospital to provide medical service to nearly 65 thousand people a day!

With 89 operating rooms and 2,682 beds, it will be a leading medical center in every sense of the word.

Basaksehir Medical City Complex- Modern and Advanced Services

Mamishoglu added that the project of Basaksehir Medical City is a joint project between the public and private sectors, but its staff, which will provide the service, will consist entirely of state doctors and employees of the Ministry of Health.

The private sector, represented by the construction company, will provide external services called support services such as cleaning, security, guard, secretarial and technical services. All services will be free.

We will not close any hospital and move here, but we will provide the highest-level services, which are complementary to the leading health services in Turkey.

When operated, the hospital will be able to do everything from transplanting the heart to liver transplantation and from providing intensive care to sufferers and intensive care for preterm infants. All this will take place within one hospital campus where we will make qualitative leaps in the world's health.
