Turkish Statistics Authority: More than 150,000 apartments were sold in June 2022

Official reports issued by the Turkish Statistics Authority reported remarkable progress in the sales of apartments in Turkey in June of the current year 2022, after the number of apartments sold exceeded 150,000 apartments throughout Turkey.

Apartment sales in June advanced by 22.6%

Statistical data issued by the Turkish Statistical Authority TÜİK recorded the sale of 150,509 apartments throughout Turkey in June of this year, thus achieving an increase in apartment sales by 22.6% compared to its sales in the previous month, and by 11.7% compared to its sales during the same month from last year.

The housing sector in Turkey achieved 726,398 sales during the first six months of this year, an increase of 37.7% over the sales of the same period last year.

Istanbul is at the forefront of the most selling states

In detail, Istanbul ranked first among the Turkish states that sold apartments in June of this year, with 27,998 apartments sold, and 18.6% of the general sales of apartments throughout Turkey during the mentioned month.

After Istanbul, the Turkish capital, Ankara, ranked second with sales of 13,303 apartments, and 8.8% of public sales, followed by Izmir, with 8,243 apartments, and 5.5% of public sales of apartments throughout Turkey in June of the year 2022.

As for the states that sold the least apartments in Turkey in June of this year, Hakkari was topped by the sale of 40 apartments, followed by Ardahan with the sale of 44 apartments, and Bayburt with the sale of 90 apartments.

The sales figures in the ten states that sold the most apartments in June of this year were as follows:

New apartment sales

In a related context, sales of new residential apartments in June of this year amounted to 44,732 apartments, achieving an increase of 11.6%, compared to sales in the same month of the previous year 2021, and the percentage of sales of new apartments reached 29.7% of the general sales of apartments in Turkey during the sixth month of this year.

Besides, official statistics recorded the sale of 208,451 new apartments during the first six months of this year, an increase of 24.2% over the sales of the first six months of last year.

As for used residential apartments, their sales in June of this year amounted to 105,777 apartments, achieving an increase of 11.8% compared to sales of used apartments during the same month of 2021, and 70.3% of the general sales of apartments in Turkey in June of this year.

With regard to sales of used apartments during the first six months of this year, 517,947 apartments were sold, an increase of 34.6% over the sales of used apartments during the same period last year.

Mortgage apartment sales

With regard to sales of mortgaged apartments, the number of mortgaged apartments sold in Turkey in June of this year reached 40,610 apartments, achieving an increase of 40.6% compared to sales during the same month of the last year 2021, and the percentage of sold apartments reached 27% of the total apartments sold in Turkey in June of this year.

The sales of mortgaged apartments also achieved an annual growth rate of 63.5% during the first six months of this year, with 170,317 mortgaged apartments sold.

While sales of non-mortgage apartments in June of this year amounted to 109,899 apartments, achieving an increase of 3.8% compared to sales of non-mortgage apartments during the same month last year, and the percentage of non-mortgaged apartments reached 73% of the total apartments sold in Turkey in June of this year.

In turn, non-mortgaged apartments achieved 556,081 sales during the first six months of this year, an increase of 23.9% over sales of the same period last year.
