Countries that the Turkish passport can enter without a visa 2026
In 2026, the Turkish passport allows its holder to enter around 77 countries without a visa, reflecting a noticeable improvement compared to previous years.
In earlier periods, particularly during and shortly after the global Coronavirus pandemic, the number of visa free destinations temporarily declined due to travel restrictions imposed by several countries. However, with the full reopening of borders and the normalization of international travel, most of these restrictions have been lifted.
As a result, the Turkish passport has regained much of its mobility, supported by bilateral agreements and eased travel policies, making it one of the stronger passports in its region in terms of international access.
Can a Turkish passport holder enter Europe without a visa?
Turkey is geographically a European country and located next to the European Union countries. As a result, several rounds of negotiations have arisen regarding Turkey's accession to the European Union, according to which a Turkish citizen can enter all European countries without a visa.
However, things did not happen for various reasons, forcing many European Union countries to conclude unilateral agreements on travel and movement between Turkey and their countries by Turkish citizens or citizens of those countries.
The Turkish passport holder enters several European countries without a visa, such as Serbia, Ukraine, Belarus, Bosnia, and Herzegovina, Albania, and Montenegro.
The Turkish passport holder can obtain a Schengen visa, which allows him/her to roam and enter all the countries of the European Union with ease, whether for the purpose of tourism or trade, as Turkey has major trade agreements with Europe, the latest of which was the Customs Union Agreement between Europe and Turkey.
In special cases for some European countries, it is easy to obtain a visa for Turkish passport holders, such as Germany and Britain, where Germany has the largest community of Turks abroad, numbering 4 million, in addition to the free trade agreements between Britain and Turkey after the separation of the first from the European Union.
