Investments Worth 112 Billion for Transportation in Istanbul

The General Secretary of Istanbul Municipality Khairi Parachli said that the municipality will make investments worth 112 billion Turkish liras in the transportation field in the city during this year.

Istanbul Intertrafik Exhibition was attended by more than 200 companies from 30 countries. The exhibition was attended by a large number of local visitors in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, European countries, Russia and the Turkish Republics.

The Secretary-General of Istanbul Municipality Khairi Parachli said that the city of Istanbul is receiving a large number of refugees and migrants, whether inside or outside the country, adding that by 2030, 60% of the population will live in cities, so there is a great need to promote and develop traffic systems in Cities and work to ensure more sustainable urban mobility.

He added that the smart transport systems are among the priorities of the municipality at the present time. He said also that many successes are currently being signed in these areas and work is underway in many projects. The municipality has made investments worth TRY 98 billion in transportation. He added that the volume of investments in transportation in Istanbul during the year will reach 112 billion Turkish liras.
