A giant exhibition area for the new Istanbul Airport

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce has started working to establish a giant exhibition area near Istanbul's third airport. The Chamber has begun its communications with the Istanbul Municipality regarding the creation of this vast area, which will cover more than 500,000 square meters near Istanbul's third airport. Mr. İbrahim Çağlar, President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, stated that talks are ongoing with the Istanbul Municipality and İGA, the company responsible for constructing Istanbul's third airport, to secure the right to invest in this project. He confirmed that these discussions are ongoing but may take a long time. He also touched on the opportunities that the new Istanbul airport will create in this field, emphasizing that the Istanbul Municipality also has a project to establish an exhibition area near the airport.

He also added that the new exhibition area project will not negatively impact the exhibition area belonging to the Istanbul World Trade Center, confirming that if necessary, the World Trade Center's exhibition can be turned into a permanent exhibition. He further stated: "Such investments should be made by institutions that do not think about financial profit at all. Many developing sectors approach our institution, and we will be able to meet their exhibition needs under suitable economic conditions. If necessary, we will even provide such services free of charge, which will greatly contribute to their growth." Mr. Çağlar also mentioned that, as the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, they are planning to expand the exhibition area of the World Trade Center in the Bakır Köy area. He added that the expansion works have already started, and the area will be increased from 135,000 square meters to 700,000 square meters, with 500 million dollars allocated for the expansion.
