According to the 2015 global report prepared by the World Bank on the largest projects carried out in cooperation between the public and private sectors, Turkey hosted three of the world's top ten projects.

Mr. Ahmet Arslan, Minister of Transport, Communications and Maritime Affairs, stated that according to the report, Istanbul Third Airport, with a cost of $35.6 billion, is the largest global project established through public-private partnership. He added that Turkey's hosting of three out of the top ten projects in the world demonstrates the growth it is experiencing, considering these projects a significant leap for the country. He also noted that Turkey alone accounted for about 40% of global investments in this field, by investing in seven projects with a total cost of $44.7 billion.

Arslan also added, according to the mentioned report, that the total investments of the top ten developing countries, excluding China, India, and Brazil, reached $99.9 billion last year, and that Turkey, with its total investments of about $44.7 billion, led these countries in terms of investment. He added that the ranking of Turkish projects among the largest projects implemented in the world, according to the report, was as follows: Istanbul Third Airport project ranked first, the Gebze-Orhan Gazi-Izmir highway project ranked second, and the Dalaman Domestic Aviation Terminal project (in Mugla city) ranked ninth.
