The economic confidence index rose by 2.1% in May
The statement of the Turkish Statistics Authority stated that the confidence index in the Turkish economy increased by 2.1% during the current month of May, to reach 96.7 points on a monthly basis, compared to last April. The statement indicated that recording this increase in the confidence index came as a result of the rise in consumer confidence, services sector, and retail trade indices.
In this context, the consumer confidence index recorded in May an increase of 0.4%, to reach 67.6 points on a monthly basis, while the confidence index of the retail trade sector increased by 1.7%, to reach 121.4 points, and the confidence index of the services sector increased by 6.1%, To reach 121.7 points.
The Economic Confidence Index is a composite index containing consumer and producer assessments and expectations on the overall state of the economy in Turkey.
