The Turkish economy achieves a growth of 7.3% in the first quarter of 2022

The Turkish economy recorded a growth rate of 7.3% during the first three months of 2022. Official data published by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Tuesday showed that the estimated gross domestic product during the first quarter of 2022 increased by 7.3% compared to the same period last year.

The official data indicated that the estimated gross domestic product at current prices increased by 79.5% during the mentioned period compared to the same period last year, with the gross domestic product in Turkey during the first three months of this year reaching 2 trillion 496 billion 328 million Turkish lira.

When calculating the total value of Turkey's gross domestic product during the mentioned period in US dollars at an exchange rate of (1 dollar = 16.40 lira), the gross domestic product during the first three months of this year amounted to 179 billion 800 million dollars.

It is worth noting that this growth in the Turkish economy comes at a time when the economies of many countries around the world are experiencing a significant decline in growth rates due to numerous global political and health crises.
