Learn statistics for the year 2022 of real estate sales for foreigners in Turkey

According to the statistical data issued by the Turkish Statistical Authority, the sales of apartments to foreigners during the last month of last year amounted to 6,386 apartments, achieving progress of 4.98% over the sales of the previous month, and the percentage of sales of foreigners during the month mentioned above amounted to 3.1% of General sales of residential apartments.

As for the annual sales of apartments to foreigners, they amounted to 67 thousand and 490 apartments, recording the progress of 15.2% compared to sales in 2021, and the percentage of apartments sold to foreigners during the past year amounted to 4.5% of the apartments sold throughout Turkey.

Istanbul tops the annual sales to foreigners

In the details of the numbers related to the sales of apartments to foreigners in the Turkish states, Istanbul ranked first as the most Turkish state selling apartments to foreigners during the past year 2022, with 24,953 apartments sold, followed by Antalya in the second place with 21,860 apartments, and in the third place came Mersin state, with 4,316 apartments sold.

As for sales of foreigners during the last month of last year, it was topped by Antalya with 2,465 apartments sold, followed by Istanbul in the second place with 1,968 apartments sold, then Mersin ranked third with 663 apartments sold.

Russians are at the forefront of the nationalities most buying real estate in Turkey

With regard to the nationalities that buy the most apartments in Turkey, the Russians ranked first among the nationalities that bought the most apartments during the past year 2022 by purchasing 16,312 apartments, followed by the Iranians in the second place by purchasing 8,223 apartments, and in the third place the Iraqis by purchasing 6,241 apartments.

In the sales of the last month, the Russians also topped the foreign nationalities that purchased the most apartments in Turkey, by purchasing 2,403 apartments, followed by the Iranians, by purchasing 675 apartments, then the Iraqis, by purchasing 345 apartments.
