Kaleiçi is located in the heart of Antalya and is linked to the Muratpaşa district in the city center. It forms the core of old Antalya and its historical traces remain to this day. Kaleiçi is surrounded by a wide wall in the shape of a horseshoe, which once served as a fortification protecting old Antalya (Kaleiçi). The harbor formed another wall protecting the city from below. The foundation of this wall dates back to pre-Christian eras, with its origins in the Hellenistic and Roman periods. The Seljuks expanded and rebuilt it, and many of the stones used in its construction bear ancient inscriptions. There was a tower every fifty feet along this historic wall. The city preserved this wall throughout the ages until the nineteenth century. Today, only the Hıdırlık Tower, the Clock Tower, and Hadrian's Gate remain.

This historic city, surrounded by walls and the sea, is today called Kaleiçi (kaleiçi), meaning "inside the castle." • Hadrian's Gate (Hadrian Kapısı), considered one of the most important protected historical monuments in Antalya, was built in the name of the Roman Emperor Hadrianus (Hadrianus) and is one of the most beautiful gates in Pamphylia in Asia Minor.
• Hıdırlık Tower (Hıdırlık Külesi), one of the most important well-preserved ancient historical monuments, located in the southern part of the castle wall. The lower part of the tower is square, while the upper part is circular. Based on its internal features, it is believed to have been used for city defense or for lighting warning fires.
• Yivli Minaret and Complex (Yivli Minre ve Külliyesi), which includes a minaret, mosque, and several schools dating back to the Seljuk era. It is one of the most important Islamic monuments in Antalya.
• Kaleiçi Museum (Kaleiçi Müzesi), which contains many of the area's cultural artifacts and hosts various artistic and cultural events and activities.
• Kaleiçi Market (Kaleiçi Çarşısı), considered one of the most vibrant and charming markets in Antalya, filled with shops selling gifts and antiques, hotels, boutiques, restaurants, and various stores.

In addition, the area is home to many old historical landmarks such as mosques, towers, and old houses.
