Apartment Sales in Turkey Rise by 76.1% in October

According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the number of residential apartments sold in Turkey in October totaled 165,138 apartments, marking an increase of 76.1% compared to sales in the same month of the previous year and an increase of 17.2% compared to sales in the previous month.

Sales figures for the mentioned month recorded the highest monthly sales figure for the current year and the highest sales figure for the tenth month in the past three years.

In terms of specific numbers, Istanbul province ranked first among Turkish provinces for apartment sales in October, with 24,812 apartments sold. It was followed by Ankara in second place with 15,257 apartments sold, and Izmir in third place with 8,658 apartments sold.

The provinces with the fewest apartment sales during the tenth month of this year were led by Hakkari with 76 apartments sold, followed by Bayburt with 97 apartments sold, and Ardahan with 112 apartments sold.

Foreign Sales Also Increase

In relation to foreign sales, the number of apartments sold to foreigners in October this year reached 2,122, achieving a 5% increase compared to foreign sales in the previous month.

Foreign sales accounted for 1.3% of the total residential apartment sales across Turkey in October this year, while the total number of apartments sold to foreigners in the first ten months reached 19,212 apartments.

Antalya Leads Turkish Provinces in Foreign Sales

In detailed data, Antalya province ranked first among Turkish provinces for foreign apartment sales in October 2024, with 750 apartments sold. Istanbul came in second with 724 apartments sold, and Mersin ranked third with 148 apartments sold.

In terms of foreign nationalities, Russians were the top foreign buyers of residential apartments in Turkey in October 2024, with 373 apartments purchased. Iranians followed in second place with 172 apartments, and Ukrainians ranked third with 136 apartments.
