Turkey: Apartment sales achieve a 32% increase during the third month of 2023

The Turkish Statistical Institute announced the percentage of real estate sales in Turkey for residential apartments during the third month of this year. Istanbul maintained its lead among the Turkish provinces with the highest real estate sales in Turkey. Follow the details in the following report:

Apartment sales increased by 32% during the third month of this year

According to statistical data issued by the Turkish Statistical Institute TÜİK, sales of residential apartments in Turkey during March of this year reached 105,476 units, achieving an increase of 31.79% compared to residential apartment sales throughout Turkey during the previous month.

Statistical figures also recorded the sale of 283,215 residential apartments across Turkey during the first three months of this year.

Istanbul leads the provinces in apartment sales

In the details, Istanbul ranked first among Turkish provinces in residential apartment sales during March of this year, with 18,166 apartments sold, representing 17.2% of total residential apartment sales across Turkey during that month.

Following Istanbul in second place was the capital Ankara, with 12,023 apartments sold, representing 11.4% of total sales, followed by Antalya in third place with 6,120 apartments sold, representing 5.8% of total residential apartment sales across Turkey.

As for the provinces with the lowest residential apartment sales in Turkey during the tenth month of this year, Ardahan topped the list with 23 apartments sold, followed by Hakkari with 54 apartments sold, and then Bayburt with 69 apartments sold.

New apartment sales reached 32,899 units

In a related context, new residential apartment sales during March of this year reached 32,899 units, an increase of 40% compared to new apartment sales in the previous month.

The percentage of new apartment sales reached 31.2% of the total residential apartment sales in Turkey during the third month of this year.

As for used residential apartments, sales during March of this year reached 72,577 units, an increase of 28.3% compared to used residential apartment sales in the previous month.

The percentage of used apartments sold during the mentioned month was 68.8% of the total residential apartment sales in Turkey during the third month of this year.

Sales of mortgaged apartments

Regarding mortgaged apartment sales, the number of mortgaged residential apartments sold in Turkey during March of this year reached 25,262 units, representing 24% of the total apartments sold in Turkey during the third month of this year.

Meanwhile, sales of non-mortgaged apartments during the third month of this year reached 80,214 units, representing 76% of the total apartments sold in Turkey during the third month of this year.
