The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Esin Cakil, affirmed the depth of relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Turkey, stressing that these relations derive their strength from the strong ties and solidarity between the two peoples, especially in difficult times.

50 Years of Shared Relations:

The Turkish ambassador said in a press interview published on 30/10/2022: The visit of the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to Turkey after the invitation extended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will mark a turning point in the history of relations between the two countries, which will celebrate next year the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between them.

The ambassador pointed out that King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa was the first leader from the region to visit Turkey after the events of July 15, 2016, which constituted clear solidarity with her country.

On the economic front, Ambassador Cakil revealed a surge in trade between Turkey and Bahrain, as bilateral trade during the first half of this year 2022 reached about 493 million dollars, after having declined over the past few years, especially in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The ambassador noted that Bahraini investments in Turkey have reached about one billion dollars.
