Real estate sales in Turkey: 1,499,316 homes in 2020

Regarding real estate sales in Turkey, the Turkish Statistical Institute announced home sales statistics for the year 2020. Accordingly, housing sales increased by 11.2 percent in 2020 compared to the previous year, with Istanbul leading the Turkish provinces in the number of sales.

Real Estate Sales in Turkey: 1.5 Million Homes in 2020

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute's information on home sales in Turkey during 2020, the number of homes sold in 2020 reached 1,499,316 homes.

Looking at these figures, we find that the percentage of home sales in Turkey during 2020 was 11.2% compared to the previous year.

While sales of new homes real estate in Turkey reached 31.3%, the rate of sales of old homes increased to 68.7%, totaling 1,029,000 old homes.

As usual, Istanbul maintained its lead among Turkish provinces in home sales with 265,098 homes sold, accounting for 17.7% of sales, followed by Ankara in second place with 157,095 homes sold, accounting for 10.5%, and Izmir in third place with 93,457 homes sold, accounting for 6.2%.

It is noted that the lowest number of home sales was recorded in the city of Ardahan, where the number of sales in this city was only 192 homes during 2020.
