215 thousand real estate sales transactions completed in Turkey during the fourth month of 2023

The official authorities in the Turkish government announced that nearly 215,000 real estate sales transactions were completed in the Land Registry Directorates during the fourth month of this year, with residential apartments accounting for the largest share of these real estate transactions. Real estate sales in Turkey approached 215,000 properties during the fourth month

According to data issued by the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre in Turkey, 214,947 real estate sales transactions were completed in April 2023. The income generated from land registry fees for real estate sales in Turkey during that month amounted to 4,338,172,341 Turkish liras.

Residential apartments are the most sold type of property

In the details related to the types of properties sold during the fourth month of this year, residential apartments ranked first among the most sold types of properties. According to the data of the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, the number of residential apartment sales in Turkey reached 83,347 apartments, accounting for 39% of the properties sold during that month.

Agricultural land came in second place with 68,760 plots sold, representing 32% of total real estate sales, followed by construction land in third place with 38,017 plots sold, accounting for 18% of total real estate sales. Commercial properties ranked fourth with 8,546 properties sold, representing 4% of real estate sales, while sales of other types of properties in Turkey during the fourth month of this year reached 16,277 properties.

Istanbul tops Turkish provinces in real estate sales

Regarding the distribution of real estate sales across various provinces in Turkey, Istanbul ranked first among the Turkish provinces in real estate sales during the fourth month of this year, with 23,397 properties sold, accounting for 10.9% of real estate sales throughout Turkey during that month.

Ankara ranked second with 16,307 properties sold, representing 7.6% of total real estate sales throughout Turkey, followed by Izmir in third place with 12,288 properties sold, accounting for 5.7% of real estate sales throughout Turkey during the fourth month of this year.
