Real estate sales in Turkey exceeded 150,000 properties during February.

The data released by the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre in Turkey recorded the completion of 151,416 real estate sales transactions during February 2023. The income generated from land registry fees for real estate sales during that month reached 3 billion, 591 million, and 484 thousand Turkish liras.
Residential apartments are the most sold type of real estate
In detail, regarding the types of properties sold during the second month of this year, residential apartments ranked first among the most sold property types. According to the data from the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, the number of residential apartments sold reached 60,426, constituting 40% of the properties sold during that month.
Agricultural lands ranked second, with 46,720 agricultural lands sold, making up 31% of real estate sales. Construction lands followed in third place, with 26,247 construction lands sold, accounting for 17% of real estate sales. Commercial properties ranked fourth, with 6,372 commercial properties sold, representing 4% of real estate sales, while sales of other types of properties during the mentioned month reached 11,651 properties.

Istanbul tops Turkish provinces in real estate sales
Regarding the distribution of real estate sales across various provinces of Turkey, Istanbul ranked first among Turkish provinces in real estate sales during the second month of this year, with 19,710 properties sold, representing 13% of total real estate sales in Turkey during that month.
Ankara, the Turkish capital, ranked second with 10,609 properties sold, accounting for 7% of the total real estate sales in Turkey. Izmir followed in third place, with 8,777 properties sold, representing 5.8% of real estate sales in Turkey during the second month of this year.
