General sales of residential apartments in Turkey record the highest monthly figure during the current year 2023

According to statistical data issued by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), apartment sales in Turkey during August of this year reached 122,091 units, achieving an increase of 11.44% compared to apartment sales across Turkey in the previous month. Additionally, sales in the eighth month recorded the highest monthly figure for apartment sales this year.

Statistical figures also recorded the sale of 797,418 apartments across Turkish territory during the first eight months of this year.

Istanbul leads the provinces with the highest sales

In the details of the data, Istanbul ranked first among Turkish provinces in apartment sales during August of this year, with 17,408 apartments sold, representing 14.3% of total apartment sales across Turkey during the mentioned month.

The Turkish capital Ankara came in second place with 11,007 apartments sold, accounting for 9% of total sales, followed by Antalya in third place with 6,504 apartments sold, representing 5.3% of total apartment sales across Turkey during the eighth month of 2023.

As for the provinces with the lowest apartment sales in Turkey during the eighth month of this year, Ardahan topped the list with 39 apartments sold, followed by Hakkari with 67 apartments sold, and then Bayburt with 139 apartments sold.

Sales of new apartments reached 35,310 units

In this context, sales of new apartments during August of this year reached 35,310 units. Their share accounted for 28.9% of total apartment sales in Turkey during the eighth month of the current year.

As for used apartments, their sales during August of this year reached 35,310 units. Their share during the mentioned month was 71.1% of total apartment sales in Turkey during the eighth month of this year.

Sales of mortgaged apartments

Regarding sales of mortgaged apartments, the number of mortgaged apartments sold in Turkey during August of this year reached 16,375 units, and the share of mortgaged apartments sold was 13.4% of the total apartments sold in Turkey during the eighth month of the current year.

Meanwhile, sales of non-mortgaged apartments during the eighth month of this year reached 105,716 units, representing 86.6% of the total apartments sold in Turkey during the eighth month of the current year.
