Turkey records the sale of more than 15,000 apartments to foreigners since the beginning of 2024

Turkey has witnessed remarkable sales of residential apartments to foreigners during the past months of 2024, with the number of apartments sold exceeding 15,000, and Istanbul topping the list of cities most attractive to foreign buyers.

Turkey records the sale of 15,068 apartments to foreigners so far this year

According to data issued by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the number of residential apartments sold to foreigners during August 2024 reached 2,257 apartments.

The percentage of apartment sales to foreigners during August 2024 reached 1.7% of the total general sales of residential apartments in Turkey overall, while the total number of apartments sold to foreigners during the first eight months reached 15,068 residential apartments.

Istanbul tops Turkish provinces in sales to foreigners

In detail, the data showed that the province of Istanbul ranked first among Turkish provinces in the sale of residential apartments to foreigners during August 2024, with 838 apartments sold.
Antalya came in second place with 696 apartments sold, and Mersin ranked third with 174 apartments sold.

Russians top the list of most purchasing nationalities

Regarding the ranking of foreign nationalities according to their purchases of residential apartments in Turkey, Russians ranked first as the top foreign nationality purchasing residential apartments in Turkey during August 2024, with 381 apartments purchased. They were followed by Iranians in second place with 171 apartments purchased, and Ukrainians in third place with 161 apartments purchased.
