Apartment sales in Turkey increased by 20% in February 2025

Apartment sales in Turkey witnessed a significant growth of 20.1% in February 2025 compared to the same period last year, with total sales reaching 112,818 apartments. Foreign sales recorded 1,457 residential apartments, representing 1.3% of total sales. Istanbul topped the list of cities with the highest real estate sales in Turkey.

Apartment sales in Turkey rise by 20% in the second month of 2025

According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the number of residential apartments sold in Turkey during February reached 112,818, achieving an increase of 20.1% compared to sales in the same month of 2024.

Sales figures for the mentioned month also recorded the highest number for the second month over the past three years.

In detail, Istanbul ranked first among Turkish provinces with the highest number of residential apartment sales during February 2025, with 19,347 apartments sold, followed by Ankara in second place with 10,791 apartments, and Izmir in third place with 6,899 apartments sold.

The provinces with the lowest apartment sales in the first month of this year were Ardahan with 24 apartments, followed by Tunceli with 70 apartments, and Bayburt with 73 apartments.

Foreign sales reached 1,457 apartments in the second month

Regarding foreign sales in Turkey, the number of residential apartments sold to foreigners during February of this year reached 1,457 apartments, representing 1.3% of the total residential apartment sales across Turkey.

Istanbul tops Turkish provinces in sales to foreigners

According to the data, Istanbul ranked first among Turkish provinces in residential apartment sales to foreigners during February 2025, with 539 apartments sold.
Antalya came in second with 503 apartments sold, and Mersin ranked third with 89 apartments sold.

Russians top the list of nationalities buying the most

Regarding the ranking of foreign nationalities by their purchases of residential apartments in Turkey, Russians ranked first as the top foreign buyers during February 2025, with 256 apartments purchased. Iranians came second with 133 apartments, and Iraqis were third with 99 apartments purchased.
