Turkey: Foreign property sales increased by more than 23% in May 2023

Apartment sales to foreigners achieve a 24% increase in the fifth month

According to data issued by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the number of residential apartments sold to foreigners during the fifth month of this year reached 3,167 apartments, achieving a 23.85% increase compared to apartment sales to foreigners during the fourth month of this year.

The percentage of foreign sales of residential apartments in Turkey during May of this year reached 2.8% of the total general sales of residential apartments throughout Turkey. As for apartment sales to foreigners during the first five months of this year, they amounted to 16,650 apartments.

Antalya tops Turkish provinces in sales to foreigners

According to the details of the data, Antalya ranked first among Turkish provinces in the sale of residential apartments to foreigners during May 2023, with 1,245 apartments sold. Istanbul ranked second with 934 apartments sold, and Mersin ranked third with 249 apartments sold.

Regarding the classification of foreign nationalities according to their purchases of residential apartments in Turkey, Russians ranked first as the most foreign nationality purchasing residential apartments in Turkey during May 2023, with 991 apartments purchased.
