Strong comeback for foreign apartment sales in Turkey in May 2024

Foreign sales of residential apartments in Turkey recorded a remarkable growth of 62.3% during May of this year, with Antalya leading the Turkish states in sales to foreigners, and Russian nationality ranked first among the foreign nationalities owning real estate in Turkey 2024.

Sales of apartments to foreigners show significant progress during the fifth month of 2024

According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the number of residential apartments sold to foreigners in Turkey during May of this year reached 2064 apartments, achieving a growth of 62.3% compared to the sales of the previous month, and recording the highest monthly sales number to foreigners during the current year.

The percentage of foreign sales during May of this year amounted to 1.9% of the total general sales of residential apartments across Turkey, while the total number of apartments sold to foreigners during the first five months reached 9,021 apartments.

Antalya leads the Turkish states in sales to foreigners

In the details of the data, Antalya ranked first among the Turkish states in selling residential apartments to foreigners during May 2024 with 797 apartments sold, followed by Istanbul with 668 apartments sold, and Mersin ranked third with 164 apartments sold.

Russians top the list of nationalities buying the most

Regarding the ranking of foreign nationalities according to their purchases of residential apartments in Turkey, Russians ranked first among the foreign nationalities buying the most residential apartments in Turkey during May 2024, with 437 apartments purchased, followed by Iranians in second place with 207 apartments purchased, and Ukrainians in third place with 171 apartments purchased.
