UAE investments in Turkey reached 5.6 billion dollars until August 2023

Officials at the Investment Office in Turkey announced that Emirati investments in Turkey exceeded 5 billion dollars as of August of this year, while the volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached more than 10 billion dollars. Follow the details via Imtilak Real Estate.

Emirati investments in Turkey reached 5.6 billion dollars

On the sidelines of the eighth session of the World Investment Forum held in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, the head of the Investment Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, made important statements about the volume of Turkish-Emirati investments and the recorded figures in the trade exchanges between the two countries.

Dağlıoğlu revealed in his statement that the total volume of foreign direct investment from the UAE to Turkey reached 5.6 billion dollars (20.6 billion dirhams) in the period from 2002 to August 2023.

The volume of trade exchange between Turkey and the UAE reached 10 billion US dollars

Dağlıoğlu pointed out that a large number of strong Emirati investment companies have been established in Turkey, mentioning in this context that there are about 600 companies with Emirati capital operating in Turkey until the first half of this year.

Dağlıoğlu continued his talk about the strong trade partnership that currently connects Turkey with the UAE, noting that the volume of trade exchanges between Turkey and the UAE reached about 10 billion US dollars until 2022, also noting that the UAE is Turkey's thirteenth largest trading partner in terms of exports and the fifteenth in terms of imports.

Regarding the investment sectors that attracted Emirati investors in Turkey, Dağlıoğlu indicated that Turkey attracts investments from the UAE particularly in the sectors of energy, healthcare, agriculture, logistics, transportation, infrastructure, finance, and tourism, in addition to the fields of climate change, energy, water, and food security.
In a related context, Dağlıoğlu clarified that among the most prominent investments made by Emirati companies in Turkey is the agreement between DP World Group and the Turkish Evyap Group to establish a strategic partnership in equity between "DP World Yarımca Port" and Evyap Port, in addition to Emirates NBD's acquisition of DenizBank.

Turkish investment in the UAE exceeded one billion dollars

On the other hand, Dağlıoğlu said that the total volume of direct foreign investment from Turkey to the UAE reached about 1.1 billion dollars during the period between 2014 and 2022, while stating that there are more than 400 companies with Turkish capital operating in the UAE in the sectors of construction, tourism, defense, and other sectors.
