Record numbers for apartment sales in Turkey during December 2021

According to the statistical data issued by the Turkish Statistical Authority TÜİK: The sales of apartments throughout Turkey during December for the past year 2021, amounted to 226,503 apartments, achieving significant progress of 113.7% compared to sales in the same month of the previous year, with a percentage of 26.66% compared to the previous month's sales.
The sales of apartments in Turkey in general during the past year reached: 1,491,856 apartments, a slight difference of 0.5% from the sales of the year 2020.

Istanbul tops the Turkish states in the sales of apartments
In the details of the numbers: the state of Istanbul ranked first among the Turkish states that sold apartments during December 2021 with the sale of 39,026 apartments, with a percentage of 17.2% of the general sales of apartments.
The Turkish capital, Ankara, came in second place with 21,481 apartments sold, or 9.5% of apartment sales across Turkey.
While Izmir ranked third with the sale of 13,386 apartments, with a rate of 5.9% of apartment sales during December 2021.
Istanbul apartment sales also ranked first among the Turkish states that sold apartments during 2021, with the sale of 276,223 apartments, followed by the Turkish capital, Ankara, with the sale of 144,104 apartments, and Izmir ranked third with the sale of 86,722 apartments.
As for the Turkish states that sold the least apartments during the past year 2021, Hakkari was topped by the sale of 267 apartments, followed by the state of Ardahan with the sale of 377 apartments, then the Bayport state with the sale of 871 apartments.

New apartment sales made significant progress in December 2021
With regard to the classification of apartment sales, the sales of new apartments during December 2021 amounted to 76,747 apartments, achieving a remarkable progress by 108% compared to sales of new apartments in the same month of the year 2020. In 2021, 461,523 apartments, achieving 30.9% of the sales of public apartments during the past year.
As for the sales of used residential apartments during December 2021, it amounted to 149,756 apartments, achieving a record progress of 116.8% compared to sales in the same month of the year 2020, while sales of used residential apartments during the year 2021 amounted to 1,030,333 residential apartments with 69.1% of the general sales of apartments in Turkey.
Record rise in mortgaged home sales
In the other classifications of the types of sales in the statistical data, the sales of mortgaged apartments during December 2021 amounted to 45,260 apartments, achieving an increase of 209.3% compared to sales of mortgaged homes in the same month of 2020. While the sales of mortgaged apartments during 2021 reached: 294,530 apartments, achieving 19.7% of the general sales of apartments throughout Turkey during 2021.
