Turkey: More than 85,000 residential apartments sold during the fourth month of 2023

The Turkish Statistical Institute announced that the number of residential apartments sold in Turkey during April of this year exceeded 85,000 apartments, with Istanbul topping the list of Turkish provinces with the highest sales of residential apartments during the mentioned period. Turkey Sells 85,652 Apartments in the Fourth Month

According to statistical data issued by the Turkish Statistical Institute TÜİK, residential apartment sales in Turkey during April of this year reached 85,652 residential apartments. The statistical figures also recorded the sale of 368,867 residential apartments across Turkey during the first four months of this year.

Istanbul Leads the Provinces in Sales

In detail, Istanbul ranked first among Turkish provinces in residential apartment sales during April of this year, with 13,944 apartments sold, accounting for 16.3% of the total residential apartment sales in Turkey during the mentioned month.

Following Istanbul in second place was the Turkish capital Ankara, with 10,000 apartments sold and 11.7% of total sales, followed by Izmir in third place, with 4,960 apartments sold and 5.8% of total residential apartment sales in Turkey during the fourth month of 2023.

The provinces with the lowest residential apartment sales in Turkey during the fourth month of this year were Ardahan and Hakkari, each with 22 apartments sold, followed by Bayburt with 53 apartments sold.

New Apartment Sales Reached 26,952 Units

In this context, real estate sales in Turkey of new residential apartments during April of this year reached 26,952 apartments, with new apartment sales accounting for 31.5% of total residential apartment sales in Turkey during the fourth month of the current year.

As for used residential apartments, their sales during April of this year amounted to 58,700 apartments, with used apartments accounting for 68.5% of total residential apartment sales in Turkey during the fourth month of this year.

Sales of Mortgaged Apartments

Regarding real estate sales of mortgaged apartments, the number of mortgaged residential apartments sold in Turkey during April of this year reached 21,769 apartments, making up 25.4% of the total apartments sold in Turkey during the fourth month of the current year.

Meanwhile, sales of non-mortgaged apartments during the fourth month of this year reached 63,883 residential apartments, accounting for 74.6% of total apartments sold in Turkey during the third month of the current year.
