Apartment sales numbers in Turkey exceed one million units

According to official statistical data issued by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the residential apartment sector in Turkey recorded sales of 1,159,853 apartments during the first ten months of this year, an increase of 6.7% compared to sales in the same period last year.

Istanbul tops the list of provinces with the highest sales

In the details of the announced statistical data, apartment sales in Turkey during October of this year reached 102,660 residential apartments.

Istanbul ranked first among Turkish provinces in terms of residential apartment sales during October of this year, with 16,987 apartments sold, accounting for 16.5% of the total residential apartment sales across Turkey during that month.

Following Istanbul, the Turkish capital Ankara ranked second with 8,146 apartments sold, representing 7.9% of total sales, followed by Antalya in third place with 6,323 apartments sold, accounting for 6.2% of the total residential apartment sales across Turkey during October 2022.

Hakkari topped the list of Turkish provinces with the lowest sales of residential apartments in Turkey during the tenth month of this year, with only 30 apartments sold, followed by Ardahan with 42 apartments sold, and Bayburt with 69 apartments sold.

New apartment sales achieve record numbers

In the same context, the statistical data showed that sales of new residential apartments during October of this year reached 32,692 apartments, meaning that new apartment sales accounted for 31.8% of the total residential apartment sales in Turkey during the tenth month of this year.

The number of new apartment sales across the country until the end of October of this year reached 344,810 apartments, an increase of 4.8% compared to sales in the first ten months of last year.

As for used residential apartments, their sales during October of this year reached 69,968 apartments, accounting for 68.2% of the total residential apartment sales in Turkey during the tenth month of this year.

Regarding used apartment sales during the first ten months of this year, statistical figures recorded the sale of 815,043 apartments, an increase of 7.6% compared to used apartment sales during the same period last year.

Statistical data related to mortgaged apartments during the same period

Regarding mortgaged apartment sales, the number of mortgaged residential apartments sold in Turkey during October of this year reached 13,268 apartments, with mortgaged apartments accounting for 12.9% of the total apartments sold in Turkey during the tenth month of this year.

Mortgaged residential apartment sales also achieved an annual increase of 15.2% during the first ten months of this year, with 241,869 mortgaged apartments sold.

Meanwhile, sales of non-mortgaged apartments during the tenth month of this year reached 89,392 apartments, accounting for 87.1% of the total apartments sold in Turkey during the tenth month of this year.

Non-mortgaged residential apartments achieved sales of 917,984 apartments during the first ten months of this year, an increase of 4.7% compared to sales in the same period last year.
