Turkey apartments sales to foreigners in 2021 are the highest in its history

According to data issued by the Turkish Statistics Authority Tüik, the sales of apartments to foreigners in Turkey in 2021 reached 58,576 apartments.

Thus, achieving the highest annual figure in the history of apartment sales to foreigners in Turkey, and a 43.5% increase over apartment sales to foreigners in 2020.

Historic figures in the sales of apartments to foreigners

The percentage of sales of apartments to foreigners out of the total general sales of apartments throughout Turkey amounted to 3.9%.

In turn, the sales of apartments to foreigners in December of 2021 achieved the highest monthly figure in the history of apartment sales to foreigners.

Where the sales of 7,841 apartments were recorded, an increase of 77.1% over the sales of the same month last year 2020, and an increase of 6.5% over the sales of the month preceding November 2021.

Istanbul tops sales for foreigners

In the details of the figures related to the sales of apartments to foreigners in Turkey during 2021, Istanbul ranked first among the Turkish states that sold apartments to foreigners with the sale of 26,469 apartments.

Antalya came in second place with the sale of 12,384 apartments, while the capital, Ankara, came in third place with the sale of 3,672 apartments.

December sales

Concerning sales of apartments to foreigners during the last month of 2021, Istanbul ranked first among the Turkish states that sold apartments to foreigners, with 3,300 apartments sold.

Antalya came again with the sale of 1,827 apartments, and the third place was again for the capital, Ankara, with the sale of 489 apartments to foreigners during the last month of the year 2021.

The most foreign nationals that bought apartments in 2021

In the classification of foreign nationalities according to their purchases of apartments in Turkey during 2021, Iranians ranked first among the most foreign nationalities buying apartments in Turkey during 2021, with the purchase of 10,56 apartments.

Iraqis came in second place, buying 8,661 apartments, while the Russians came in third place, buying 5,379 apartments.
