Imtilak Real Estate presents to you the latest statistics related to the sales of apartments in Turkey during the second quarter of 2021, and the recorded increase in the percentage of sales, according to the report issued by the Endeksa real estate platform.

An overview at apartment sales during the second quarter of this year
According to the statistical data contained in a report prepared by Endeksa real estate platform, in cooperation with the Association of Businessmen and Real Estate Consultants TÜGEM, and talking about the sales of apartments in Turkey 2021:
Apartment sales during the second quarter of this year amounted to 289,760 apartments, an increase of 10% compared to sales in the first quarter of this year, and 2% compared to sales of the second quarter of the last year 2020.
Istanbul ranks first
Istanbul ranked first among the Turkish states that sold apartments during the second quarter of this year, with 56,499 apartments sold, accounting for 19% of the total sales of apartments during the mentioned period.
The Turkish capital, Ankara, came in second place, with sales of 28,180 apartments, and 10% of the total sales of apartments, during the second quarter of this year.
Izmir ranked third among the Turkish states, which recorded the most sales of apartments during the second quarter of this year, which amounted to 16,325 apartments, and achieved 6% of apartment sales in Turkey in general during the mentioned period.
Used apartment sales account for 70% of sales
According to the aforementioned report, the number of used residential apartments sold during the second quarter of this year amounted to 202,250 apartments, an increase of 11% compared to sales in the first quarter of this year, and an average of 5% compared to sales of the second quarter of the last year 2020.
Used apartment sales accounted for 70% of general apartment sales during the second quarter of this year.
Foreign sales are making record progress
In a related context, during the second quarter of this year, residential apartment sales to foreigners amounted to 10,601 apartments, making a record 220% progress compared to apartment sales to foreigners during the same period in the year 2020.
Apartment sales to foreigners also increased by 7% during the second quarter of this year, compared to apartment sales to foreigners during the first quarter of this year.
The increase in demand led to an increase in prices
According to what was stated in the aforementioned report, apartments in Turkey witnessed an annual increase of 30%, accompanied by an increase in demand for real estate, where the average price per square meter across Turkey reached 3,239 TL, and the average investment life of apartments reached 20 years, while the average period for marketing an apartment was 63 days.
Aydin ranked first among the Turkish states, which witnessed the largest increase in the prices of its apartments, with an increase of 58%, followed by Mugla in second place, with an increase in the prices of its apartments reached 56%, followed by Antalya in third place with a rate of 56% an increase of 44%.
Istanbul has the highest stock of apartments
On the other hand, with regard to the apartment stock figures described in the above-mentioned report, Istanbul accounted for the largest proportion of the stock, with 274,228 apartments in its real estate stock up to the end of the second quarter of the current year.
Ankara came in second place, with 141,589 apartments in its real estate stock, and Izmir ranked third with 83,260 apartments in its real estate inventory.
