Apartment sales in Turkey increased by more than 20% in February

The Turkish Statistics Authority TÜİK issued its detailed report on the sales of apartments in Turkey during February of this year 2022.

As the sales of apartments reached 97,587 apartments, achieving an increase of 20.1% compared to sales of apartments in the same month of the previous year 2021, and an increase of 10.51% compared to the sales of the previous January.

Moreover, sales of apartments in Turkey during the first two months of this year increased by 22.5% compared to sales of apartments throughout Turkey during the same period last year.

Istanbul tops the Turkish states with the best selling apartments in February

In the details of the data, Istanbul ranked first among the Turkish states that sold apartments during February of this year, with sales of 18,075 apartments, and 19.2% of the general sales of apartments throughout Turkey during the mentioned month.

The Turkish capital, Ankara, ranked second after Istanbul, with 8,464 apartments sold, and 8.7% of general sales.

Followed by Izmir in third place, with 5,575 apartments sold, and 5.7% of the general sales of apartments throughout Turkey during February 2022.

As for the states that sold the least apartments in Turkey during February this year 2022, the state of Ardahan topped the list with the sale of 23 apartments, followed by the Hakkari state with the sale of 40 apartments, and the Bayburt state came in third place with the sale of 47 apartments.

Increase in sales of new apartments by 16.8%

In a related context, sales of new apartments during February of this year amounted to 28,897 apartments, achieving an increase of 16.8% compared to sales in the same month of the previous year 2021, and the percentage of sales of new apartments reached 29.6% of the general sales of apartments in Turkey during February of this year.

As for used apartments, their sales during February of this year amounted to 68,690 apartments, achieving progress of 21.6% compared to sales of used apartments during the same month of the past year 2021, and 70.4% of the general sales of apartments in Turkey during February from this year.

Sales of mortgaged apartments increased by 35.6%

With regard to sales of mortgaged apartments, the number of apartments sold in Turkey during February of this year reached 19,888 apartments, achieving an increase of 35.6% compared to sales of mortgaged apartments during the same month of the previous year 2021, which amounted to 20.4% of the total apartments sold in Turkey during February of this year.

While sales of non-mortgage apartments during February of this year amounted to 77,699 apartments, achieving an increase of 16.7% compared to sales of non-mortgage apartments during the same month of last year, and the percentage of non-mortgaged apartments reached 79.6% of the total apartments sold throughout Turkey during February of the current year 2022.
