Used home sales in Turkey for the first quarter of 2022 increased by 24%
The used home market report is prepared periodically in cooperation between the Association of Real Estate Businessmen and Consultants TÜGEM, and Endeksa Real Estate Studies Platform.
In the details of the figures contained in the report, used homes in Turkey during the first quarter of the current year 2022 amounted to 225,626 homes, an increase of 24%, compared to sales in the first quarter of the last year 2021.
70% of home sales in Turkey were for used homes!
Based on the figures mentioned by the report, used home sales accounted for 70% of the general sales of homes throughout Turkey during the first quarter of this year 2022, which amounted to 320,063 homes, an increase of 21% over the general sales of homes during the first quarter of the year 2021.
Home sales for loans increased by 45%
In the same context, the number of homes sold with loans during the first quarter of the current year 2022 reached 68,342 homes, achieving 21% of the general sales of homes throughout Turkey during the first quarter of this year 2022.
Homes sold with loans in the first quarter of this year achieved an increase of 45% compared to their sales during the first quarter of the last year 2021.
Prices continue to increase:
Real estate experts refer that the record sales achieved by used homes during the first quarter of this year 2022 are an indication of a large movement in the real estate market that has led to a greater demand than supply, which led to a significant increase in the prices of Turkey's homes, especially during the last year.
The aforementioned report monitored the annual increase in house prices in the major provinces of Turkey during the first quarter of this year 2022.
Istanbul is the province with the highest house prices:
According to the aforementioned report, Istanbul ranked first among the Turkish states, with an annual increase in house prices of 147% during the first quarter of this year 2022.
While Izmir came in second place, with an increase of 119%, followed by the capital, Ankara, with an annual increase of 116%, during the first quarter of this year 2022.
Foreign sales increased by 45% during the first quarter:
The aforementioned report also touched on home sales to foreigners in Turkey during the first quarter of this year 2022. According to the data received, sales of foreigners amounted to 14,344 homes, an increase of 45% compared to home sales to foreigners during the first quarter of the last year 2021.
